Quality Tonewoods
Despite the Vintage VS6’s accessible price, the guitar is constructed with a quality mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fingerboard. This tonewood combination lends the VS6 a classic tonality with excellent warmth, resonance and sustain – perfect for blues, rock, and more. The iconic double cutaway design is offset to provide easy access to the top frets, so you’ll have no problem reaching the top notes during solos, while the smooth body contours give a comfortable playing feel whether stood up or sat down.
Smooth Playability
Compared with the VS6’s vintage looks and tone, the neck features a modern 12” fingerboard radius which provides excellent balance across the strings, along with the ability to set up a low string action with no risk of the strings “choking” when you play string bends. The slim neck sits easily in the left hand, while the low-profile neck joint and offset double cutaway assists with top-fret access for high range solos. This playability gives you the smooth feel of a more modern instrument with the looks and sounds of a classic guitar.
Trev Wilkinson Hardware
Like all Vintage guitars, the VS6 features Trev Wilkinson-designed hardware, built on years of industry experience. The Wilkinson tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece features a traditional fixed design that enables full string adjustability along with optimal transfer of string vibrations.
The bridge is complemented with Wilkinson WJ44 tuners, providing a smooth action for quick and stable tuning. A graphite nut assists with tuning by providing a friction-free platform for the strings to pass over when bending strings and tuning.
Wilkinson Humbucking Pickups
The VS6 is loaded with Wilkinson MWVC humbuckers which are vintage-voiced in the style of classic PAF pickups. These pickups provide a strong humbucking tone with excellent definition, nuance, and dynamic range, courtesy of their medium-gain output. This style of pickup is perfect for blues and rock players who require all the nuances of their playing to translate through the amplifier. The MWVC humbuckers enhance the warm and resonant tone of the mahogany body/neck, giving you a fat tone with great sustain.
