Voicing switch ensures you’ll cut through the mixHigh-gain distortion may sound great when you’re rocking out by yourself. Unfortunately, most high-gain distortion effects tend to fall flat when you rock out with the rest of the band. That’s because most high-gain distortion effects rely on a scooped midrange, which tends to get lost in the mix. TC Electronic’s Rottweiler, on the other hand, uses a voicing switch which lets you select from two uniquely effective midrange curves. With the flick of a switch, your Rottweiler can jump between hard rock crunch to full-on death metal drive, all without crippling your tone onstage.
2-band EQ lets you contour your tone to perfectionStill looking to shape your tone? No problem! TC Electronic built their Rottweiler to give you plenty of tone-shaping options, including a versatile 2-band equalizer. Both bands feature a broad boost/cut range, allowing you to effectively shape your tone to a dramatic degree. For instance, you can roll off some of the highs and boost the bass for a classic metal “chugging” tone, or drop the output and boost both the bass and treble for a traditionally scooped sound. Once you start playing with the Rottweiler’s tone controls, you’ll be amazed by the broad range of useful sounds you’ll come up with.
True bypass circuitry protects your tone
It may not seem like a big deal, but the Rottweiler’s true bypass circuitry plays a major role in preserving your tone when it’s not in use, especially if you have an elaborate pedalboard setup. You see, when not in use, the Rottweiler’s true bypass design takes it completely out of your signal chain. That means your signal doesn’t run through the entire pedal’s circuitry, which can effectively add yards of passive “cable length” to your system – a recipe for adding noise to your sound. Thanks to the Rottweiler’s true bypass switching, your signal stays pure and your tone remains free from unnecessary noise.
