If you are a big fan of ESP guitars you will know that they have a few guitars that are kept as Japanese exclusives. One of those that was kept off British shores for some time was the Snapper, but now it is finally here in full force as part of the LTD Deluxe 1000 series range! This model in particular is made for the shredder who wants something with a bit more of a traditional look, but all the flare and punch of a modern Super Strat-type guitar.
Old Meets New
Even if you are a shred machine who wants to play the most extreme of metal, sometimes the beauty of a traditional old-school style guitar is just too much to pass up. So this guitar follows a classic design but has been updated with some more modern hardware and design options, meaning you will fit in on any stage. Starting out, you have a double-cutaway alder body that keeps the whole guitar extremely lightweight and lets the midrange really punch through the mix.
On top of that you have a beautiful piece of flamed maple, that gives it a bit more flare than you would expect out of similar-looking guitars. Next up you have the maple neck, which has been topped with rosewood and is slim and smooth so that nothing will get in the way of your hands when you want to really dig in to a solo.
Fishman Fluence Pickups
This guitar does not pretend to be something it is not. The moment you plug this guitar in you know that it is made for all-out high-gain metal, and part of that is thanks to the new Fishman Fluence pickups. These are ridiculously cool, as they have multple voicings built in that you can switch between using a toggle-switch on the front panel of the guitar.
A Fluence Classic in the bridge offers two classic voices: Strong, “calibrated PAF”, and the hot rodded tone that redefined lead guitar — all in the same pickup. This provides you with immense versatility, and the Fluence Modern pickup in the neck gives you fluid lead tones with plenty of bite and clarity.
With both of these pickups offering one more gritty active sounding option and another more passive sounding tone with a clear and crisp attack, you really can take this to any kind of rock or metal gig and fit right in.
Floyd Rose Tremolo
Now what lead focused guitar would be complete without some kind of flexible tremolo system. ESP love giving you ultimate control and flexibility so they have included a Floyd Rose tremolo that will let you dive down to the depths and create squeals that are only possible with a floating edge tremolo system like this.
