Delivers 50 & 100 Watts of Power
The ENGL Special Edition Amp Head features a switchable output for extra versatility, offering 50 watts and 100 watts of pure tonal power. Four 6L6GC tubes provide the amp with its immense power, using all 4 to deliver 100 watts and only 2 for the low 50-watt power. Even with its incredible output, 50 watts is more than enough for most stage settings and is perfect for players wanting to add a classic power amp distortion to spice up their sound. Using the E670’s 100-watt setting is perfect for players who prefer exploring the massive dynamic range of the power amps, offering plenty of headroom for players to enjoy.
Powerful Tonal Capabilities
Not only does the E670 Amp Head offer incredible power, its extensive range of controls ensures players can achieve the perfect tone for their playing style. Use the modern/classic button to change the basic tonal character of the amp’s voices, with modern offering a lead dynamic response while classic provides a vintage-tube tone. The tube driver enhances the dynamic range of the input signal, and can be used as an independent fifth preamp channel with EQ capabilities. The amp is also equipped with an onboard spring reverb system, a depth boost to beef up the bottom end by 6dB, a mega low punch button to boost low end frequencies, and a noise gate to help suppress excess noise.
Clean & Crunch Channels
Featured on main channel 1 are the clean and crunch channels, with separate gain, treble, and volume knobs for excellent control. The gain boost helps boost the input sensitivity of the two channels, extending the gain ranges for further tone shaping or as a volume booster for the clean channel. The normal bright button boosts the upper end of the high frequency range, providing a crisp, glassy tone perfect for brightening humbuckers and muddy pickups. The ultra bright button boosts the low end of the high frequency range, increasing twang factor and adding a sonic horn to instruments that may be lacking.
Lead I & Lead II Channels
Featured on main channel 2 are the lead I and Lead II channels, with separate gain, treble, and volume knobs for excellent control. Hi Gain increases the input sensitivity of the 2 channels, switching from a soft lead, which is perfect for high output pickups and chugging rhythm riffs, to a heavy lead perfect for scorching ultra-high gain lead sounds with lots of sustain. The contour active button shapes the midrange frequencies, boosting the mids from 300Hz to 600Hz, while the mid edge button slightly lowers the mid knobs frequency spectrum, smoothing out any rough edges.
